A LIFELONG lover of Mod music has started his own radio station which is already being listened to by people in more than 90 countries across the world.

Mark Ambrose has increased his listening figures by 6,500 per cent since he started his internet MOD Radio station in January this year.

Along with his partner Ruth O’Sullivan, they broadcast 24 hours a day from their studio at Aske Hall Stables, Aske, near Richmond.

The rapid success has resulted in the couple securing a number of sponsors keen to be associated with the station and they are now looking for more which would enable them to grow further in the coming months.

Mr Ambrose, 51, who lives in Richmond said: “I have always been into the music, fashion and general way of life that constitutes being a Mod and it’s a way of life you don’t grow out of.

“I started the station because I was sat at home one day and thought there was a real lack of dedicated Mod music on the radio.

“Even I have been surprised by how quickly the station has taken off and with the level of interest in it. We have listeners from 94 different countries around the world, some of which I have never heard of."
