GHASTLY ghouls and devilish demons will go on a perilous pier walk from Redcar to Saltburn this Halloween for charity and are looking for other volunteers to join them.

Staff at the Trinity Holistic Centre, a complementary therapy unit, are organising the sponsored event, on Saturday 31 October and will set off on a journey from Redcar Beacon at 11am to Saltburn Pier.

Anyone who wishes to dress up in Halloween costume is also welcome but people going as "mere mortals" are also welcome.

There will be a prize for the most horrifying costume and there will be fish and chips at the end,

In return walkers are asked to raise as much sponsorship money as possible for the centre.

Heather McLean, the centre’s business manager, said: “Fundraising events are so important to the running of the Trinity Holistic Centre as it costs £300,000 per year to keep our centre doors open and provide care to more than 2,000 patients affected by cancer and their families; both within the centre and on wards across South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.”

The centre has expanded its services significantly during 2015 to provide more wellbeing support; including to hospital staff and families affected by other long term conditions.

A registration fee of £7 for adults and £5 for children - or £20 for a family ticket covering two adults and two children - also applies.
