A CHILLING double bill of Classic Ghost Stories will run at a North-East theatre this month (October).

From October 14 to 17 Darlington Civic Theatre will show Middle Ground Theatre Company’s successful adaptation of Charles Dickens’ The Signalman, coupled with the world stage premiere adaptation of Robert Aickman’s The Waiting Room.

Award-winning veteran actor Jack Shepherd, who has a long and distinguished career in film, television and on stage will perform in both productions.

His awards include a Laurence Olivier Theatre Award, a Plays and Players London Critics’ Award, and a Time Out Award.

He is probably best known for his portrayal of Detective Superintendent Charles Wycliffe in the television series Wycliffe.

Mr Shepherd is joined by Richard Walsh - 12 years as Albert “Sicknote” Quigley in ITV's London's Burning- plus a full supporting cast.

There will be a free post-show talk on Thursday, October 15 and a post show Theatre Ghost Tour on Friday, October 16.
