A HOSPICE’S campaign to encourage people to donate regularly has been launched as part of its 20th anniversary celebrations.

Butterwick Hospice in Bishop Auckland is urging people to commit to between 20 pence and £20 a month to help it deliver its in-patient and outreach work across South Durham and beyond.

Fundraising Team Leader, Clair McGregor, said: “The hospice, both at Bishop Auckland and Stockton facilities, gives its service free of charge to patients, families and others.”

She said many people already give at particular times and events, such as Ladies Day, the Great North Run or one of the hospice’s many other fundraising events.

“But a regular gift – whether it is just a few pence or a few pounds – makes all the difference to planning how to spend our resources, whether it is for in-patient care, outreach services or family support.”

The hospice will be sending out information to its supporters on regular giving. Anyone wishing to give regularly can do so through the Butterwick website at www.butterwick.org.uk.

Information about the hospice’s other 20th anniversary events can also be found on the website.
