TWO sections of the A19 were closed following two accidents involving five vehicles within minutes.
North Yorkshire Police said no one was believed to have been seriously injured in the crashes on the northbound carriageway at Borrowby, near Thirsk, at 1.35pm and ten minutes later on the southbound carriageway at Crathorne, near Yarm, today (August 17).
The first incident involved a tractor and HGV and lead to the road being closed between the A168 at South Kilvington, near Thirsk, and the A684 at Ellerbeck, near Northallerton.
Police reopened the A19 near Crathorne at 3.30pm, following a collision between two cars and a van.
