A TWO-car collision on the A1(M) on the northbound carriageway has caused major congestion as the road has been closed to one lane. The crash, near the junction to Bedale, involved two cars, one which is still in the carriageway and the other which is in the central reservation. North Yorkshire Police said they did not believe anyone was seriously injured but an ambulance is at the scene to check casualties. The southbound is still moving but motorists are told to expect severe delays in the northbound carriageway while the cars are removed from the road.
