ONE of the most stunning gardens in the North East is set to open its gates at the weekend to raise funds for charity.

Tudor Croft in Stokesley Road, Guisborough, east Cleveland, features plants from across the world alongside fountains, a stream, bridges and a secret gardens.

Home to Mike Heagney, the five acre site has been a labour love for decades after it was built over ten years during the 1930s and has been enlarged and developed by the Heagney family since they bought Tudor Croft more than 60 years ago.

It has twice featured on television show Gardeners' World as well as in several magazines and can be admired by visitors on Sunday (July 5) from noon to 5pm.

Mr Heagney said: "The garden is looking better than ever and we are hopeful that the weather will be good at the weekend which means we could see hundreds of people coming to the garden.

"With plants and shrubs from all over the world, there is something for everyone and there is plenty of hidden areas for people to discover."

Admission is £5 and under 16s free. Tea, plants and crafts will be available to buy for visitors.

All proceeds to be donated to MAIN Autism charity.
