FANS of vintage fire engines are in for a treat this weekend (June 27 -28) when up to 70 descend on a North-East park.

The final preparations are being put in place by organisers of the Preston Hall Fire Engine and Vintage Vehicle Show 2015.

Visitors will be able to check out a 1960 Dennis F26 Pump Escape which is travelling down from the Aberdeen area under its own power, which attended the last Teesside Airport Fire Engine Rally in 1988 prior to event moving to Preston Park, in Stockton.

Also there will be one of the oldest Fire Engines on show, a 1943 Dennis Light 4 Pump Escape which was ordered by Elgin Town Council and delivered to the National Fire Service.

The rally has always been well supported from North of the border and members of the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service Heritage Trust will also be attending with seven appliances including an impressive 1940 open bodied Dennis Turntable Ladder.

The lines of preserved fire appliances will be joined by their modern day counterparts form the modern Fire & Rescue Services with crews from Cleveland, Durham & Darlington, North Yorkshire and Northumberland.

Various displays of fire fighting through the ages will take place in the arena alongside all action stunt displays provided by Stockton Borough Council featuring Bolddog Lings Motorcycle stunt team and Swamp Thing Monster Truck.

The show opens to the public at 11am on both Saturday and Sunday. Admission is £5 adults, £2.50 for under 16s and under 5s is free.
