BARNARD CASTLE’S Rob Dinwiddie enjoyed a welcome return to form at the Lyonness Open and is within two shots of the lead after a blistering first day.
Dinwiddie, who has had an injury-ravaged few years, built on an eagle at the first to go on to make four further birdies to post a five-under 67 total. He is two shots adrift of Frenchman Gregory Bourdy in Austria.
Hexham’s Chris Paisley is nicely placed too on one-under, while Hartlepool’s Graeme Storm and Ashington’s Kenneth Ferrie have more work to do with after posting respective 73 and 74.
