FIRECREWS were called to rescue a woman trapped in a vehicle following a collision on the A1 near Darlington.
A car and a lorry were involved in the crash at about 12.30pm today (Thursday, May 28) northbound between junction 58 at Burtree and junction 59 at Bradbury.
One lane was closed while the emergency services, including a fire engine from Darlington and two from Newton Aycliffe, attended the scene.
The crews released an injured woman who was trapped in her vehicle and she was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital by ambulance.
The lane reopened around 1.10pm.
