MIDDLESBROUGH will face Norwich City in the Championship play-off final at Wembley on Monday, May 25.
Norwich claimed a 3-1 win over East Anglian rivals Ipswich Town this afternoon to secure a 4-2 aggregate leg after the first game at Portman Road finished as a draw.
Boro won both of their matches against the Canaries this season, with a thumping 4-0 win on Teesside in November preceding a much tighter 1-0 victory at Carrow Road last month.
Today's semi-final second leg was effectively settled when Ipswich defender Christophe Berra was dimissed for handling the ball on the line at the start of the second half, with Wes Hoolahan scoring from the spot.
Ten-match Ipswich equalised when Tommy Smith scored on the hour mark, but Norwich were comfortably the better side in the second half and duly booked their place at Wembley with goals from Nathan Redmond and Cameron Jerome.
