KARINA Le Fevre is the Table Tennis Grand Prix series champion for the third year running.
The 23-year-old, from Stockton-on-Tees, took the trophy despite being eliminated in the semi-finals of the season-ending London Grand Prix in Redbridge.
She had built up enough points over the course of the season to finish top of the standings – including wins at the events in Bristol, Glasgow and Blackpool.
Le Fevre said: “It’s really nice. I was obviously in for it all season but I took every competition individually. I got off to a slow start but it’s nice to know I’ve been the most consistent player all season.
“I’m a bit disappointed with my last result, but it gives me extra motivation to train over the summer.”
Le Fevre lost to the eventual winner of the London event, Abbie Milwain, 3-2 (11-8, 4-11, 11-9, 9-11, 11-8).
The Grand Prix series, run by Table Tennis England, comprises eight main events and four smaller satellite events, played around the country between August and May.
