A FESTIVAL held in County Durham this summer will have a funny feeling about it after comedians were added to the line-up.

Hardwick Live 2015, at Hardwick Hotel Hotel, Sedgefield, on Saturday, August 22, will feature three stages of live music headlined by rock band James.

A new feature of the one-day festival will be a separate stand-up showcase of comedic talent from across the North East.

Presenter and cartoonist Alfie Joey, who starred in television shows including Hebburn and Coronation Street, and former professional wrestler Lee Kyle will take to the stage.

They will be joined by impressionist and former Britain’s Got Talent contestant Cal Halbert and pantomime star Phil Walker, who has appeared on television and headlined most of the major comedy clubs in the UK.

The comedians, all of whom cater for a family audience, will perform throughout the day in a specially created dome which will host DJ sets into the evening.

Other highlights at the festival, organised by Ramside Estates, include Razorlight, Embrace, 10cc, Cast along with new and emerging talent.

There will also be fairground rides, family activities and refreshments.

John Adamson, owner of Ramside Estates, said: “Hardwick Live 2015 looks set to be an amazing event for all ages and we’re delighted that Alfie, Cal, Lee and Phil have been able to join the line-up.

“We hope that adding comedians to the bill will enhance the live music offering and give visitors a chance to see even more world class entertainment than ever before.”

Tickets for Hardwick Live 2015, priced from £8 for children and £49 for adults, can also be purchased via the website hardwicklive.co.uk or in person from various ticket merchants including at the hotel.
