A NUMBER of car parks in the Hambleton district are to be closed for resurfacing over the coming weeks.

Hambleton District Council will work on the Millgate and Marage car parks at Thirsk between April 21 and April 24. The closures will be alternated to keep disruption to a minimum. Parking will also be available in the Market Place and the nursery and bakery car parks.

The main entrance road to Northallerton Forum will be closed from April 27 to May 1 for repairs. The pedestrian access via the main entry will be maintained and the short stay and long stay car parks will be still open with alternative access available via Vicars Croft.

“We apologise for any inconvenience and disruption this may cause,” said Clive Thornton, corporate facilities manager for the council.

“But we do need to carry out essential maintenance to the car parks and are trying to keep disturbance to a minimum and carry the work out as quickly as possible.”
