A CHARITY has been awarded cash to help it deliver more strategic respite support to carers.

The Kirkbymoorside-based Ryedale Carers Support has been given a £15,000 development grant from Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales.

The money will be used to fund more managerial hours which in turn will be used to map out a more collaborative way of working with other services following recent funding cuts.

It should allow them to plan for the next few years, so they continue to provide effective support and respite services for carers.

Ryedale Carers Support is one of the first recipients of a Lloyds Bank Foundation “Enable” grant - a fund created to help charities develop and become more robust at a time when their futures are often jeopardised by reduced funding streams.

The Foundation has allocated spending for 160 additional grants to the value of £2.5m and is encouraging more applications from charities across England and Wales.
