POLICE today launched a nationwide search for a 15-year-old schoolgirl who has gone missing from her home near Glasgow.
Jamila Stone was last seen at Central Station and may have caught a train to Birmingham where family members live.
The teenager walked out of her home in Woodfarm Road, Thornliebank, East Renfrewshire, on Sunday afternoon.
Friends have since told police they may have spotted her outside the railway station less than two hours later.
Sergeant Jim Cast at Giffnock Police Station today appealed to the public to help trace her. He said the police and family were concerned for her safety "due to her age and vulnerability".
He added: "Jamila has family in Birmingham, and one line of inquiry is that she may travel to this area.
"We will continue to explore all avenues until she is traced and returned home to her family who miss her deeply."
Jamila is described as being of mixed race, 5ft 4in, slim with long black hair and brown eyes.
She was last seen wearing navy jeans and a navy hoodie with stripes, and carrying a pink holdall.
It's believed she was found in the Glasgow area after disappearing from home on a previous occasion.
