The Seasonal Singers, a twenty strong singing group based in Teesside have had their most successful year since starting in 2009, singing to over one thousand people at the thirty five concerts they held in 2014 and raising £1,300 for local charities and ‘Good Causes’. The ‘Seasonals’ sing for Care Homes, W.I.s, and any groups who like music and entertainment based on well known ‘sing along’ songs from the 1920’s to the present day.

Concert highlights in 2014 have included singing Folk Songs at the Sedgefield Folk Festival, War Songs for the ‘Yarm 1914’ Great War Commemoration group, and Christmas Carols for the Stockton Stroke ‘Drop in’ Centre. Wherever possible, the group personalise their performances, and have written a number of songs for certain groups in Teesside, including a ‘tongue in cheek’ song poking gentle fun at the wonderful work that the W.I. do … a kind of alternative ‘Jerusalem’!!

Past recipients of the Seasonal’s fund raising have been The ‘Unicorn Disabled Riding Centre’ at Hemlington, Stokesley Community Care Centre, the local branch of ‘Childline’, and many others! Ninety per cent of the Group’s fees are given to local Good Causes each year, and the group are now sounding better than ever, having gratefully received recent funding for a new ‘state of the art’ sound system from the Tees Valley Community Foundation, the Skipton Building Society, and the Middlesbrough and Teesside Philanthropic Foundation.
