AN eclectic mix of indie favourites, veteran rockers and ska superstars have been lined up to front one of the region's biggest live music events

Influential indie bands James and Razorlight and veteran rock outfit 10cc are among the acts who have signed up to perform at Hardwick Live 2015.

The event, at Hardwick Hall Hotel near Sedgefield, County Durham, on Saturday, August 22, has also attracted West Yorkshire rockers Embrace, as well as Birmingham-based ska group The Beat and Ivor Novello award-winning singer/songwriter Scott Matthews.

Event organiser, John Adamson, said: “We’re in our third year now of this incredible festival and the line-up for Hardwick Live 2015 is easily our best and most complete yet.

“The top four artists alone have all headlined other festivals in recent years. You can’t ask for better than that.”

James, fronted by Tim Booth, has sold more than 12 million albums worldwide, including Gold Mother Seven, Laid, Whiplash and Millionaires. Some of their best known songs include She’s A Star, Laid, Born Of Frustration and Sit Down.

The band, formed in Manchester in 1982, released their 13th studio album, La Petite Mort, to critical acclaim last year.

Razorlight’s hits include America, Somewhere Else and In The Morning, while Stockport’s iconic 10cc will bring with them an arsenal of hits including, The Things We Do For Love, I’m Not In Love and Dreadlock Holiday.

Natasha North, who has recently supported Suzanne Vega and is supporting American band Train on their UK arena tour, is also set to take on the Hardwick Live stage, as well as BBC Radio 1 favourites Meadowlark.

More acts are still to be announced but organisers are promising that 2015 is “bound to be a bumper year for Hardwick Live”.

The event has attracted thousands of visitors over the last two years, with international acts such as The Jacksons, Adam Ant and Simply Minds among previous headliners.

Tickets for the one-day music festive are priced from £8 for children and £49 per adult. They will go on sale on Thursday, April 2.
