NEWCASTLE Eagles can claim their second silverware of the season when they take on Leicester Riders in the BBL Trophy final in Glasgow tomorrow.

Fab Flournoy’s men have already won the BBL Cup after an 84-71 victory over Glasgow Rocks in January, while the Tyneside outfit are also on course to win the BBL Championship and contest the play-offs.

To keep their quadruple mission on track Eagles must overcome a team that defeated them in last season’s cup final in Birmingham, but Flournoy insisted that won’t be on his players’ minds.

In that game, Newcastle were 90 seconds away from winning before former Eagle Drew Sullivan inspired Rob Paternostro’s side to a late comeback.

“We’ve been in this position before – and I’ve no doubt we’ll be in it again,” Flournoy said.

“The guys from last year know what it’s like to get so close and not take it, but that’s not important this time around.

“We’re not a club that dwells on things that have happened. We focus on what we do as a team each and every night on the court.

“Whether we win or we lose, it’ll be our way.”
