A PENSIONER has died after being struck by a car while out walking this morning, March 9.
The 82-year-old died in hospital after the collision in Harrogate which happened shortly after 10am.
A silver Kia Picanto driven by a 40-year-old woman from the Knaresborough area, struck the elderly pedestrian at the exit to the Odeon cinema on Station Avenue.
The woman, who has not been named but came from Harrogate, was rushed to Leeds General Infirmary with serious injuries and was later pronounced dead.
Witnesses to the collision or anyone who noticed the car or pedestrian immediately before it, should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option two and ask for the Major Collision Investigation Team. Alternatively email Mcit@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk
