A COUNCIL is asking members of the public for their views on how it should make the most of new technology.

With smartphones and tablets becoming increasingly used to access its website, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council wants to know what people think can be improved in the future.

The survey, open for responses until Friday, March 27, also asks how members of the public would like to be contacted by the council through new digital communication channels including texting, social media and – in the future – a mobile app.

Councillor Glyn Nightingale, cabinet member for corporate resources, said: “We want to make sure that as many people as possible fill in the survey to help the council improve our contact with residents.

“We are interested to hear from members of the public so that they can help shape the future of our services both online as well as conventional means for those who do not have access to the internet.”
