THE QUEST is on once again to find the best mum Leyburn and she could win a treat or two.
After last year’s successful competition to find Leyburn’s best mother run by two of the town’s businesses; Milners Store and next-door Penleys Bistro, they are once again collaborating to repeat the contest.
The competition is open to anyone in Leyburn or the surrounding area, who feels that his or her mother is deserving of a prize for being a special mum. Last year’s winner was Lorraine Johnson from Carlton in Coverdale, after a nomination from her daughter Alice.
Co-organiser Leonie Garrard from Milners said: “ It does not matter what age you are, if you feel your mum deserves a special treat, then simply fill in the form and drop it in at Milners or Penleys.”
The first prize is £100 worth of vouchers for Milners, along with an evening meal for two and a bottle of wine at Penleys. The runner up will receive £50 Milners vouchers and lunch for two at Penleys.
Posters are now displayed prominently throughout the town and the two organisers hope visit local primary schools to drum up some support for the competition.
Application forms may be obtained from either premise, returned, or sent by email to: lovemymum@milnersofleyburn.co.uk /. The competition closes on Saturday March 14.
