STOCKTON Town took another step towards a double when they romped to victory at Richmond Town in the semi final of the Monkwearmouth Charity Cup.

The Yorkshiremen faced a formidable hurdle when they conceded twice to Kallum Hannah in the opening 26 minutes and although their defence tightened up, they leaked another three goals in the second half.

Prolific scorer Hannah completed a hat-trick and Matthew Garbutt bagged a brace in the closing stages.

Stockton will meet Cleator Moor Celtic who eased past Redcar Athletic in Cumbria. The Seasiders were on the back foot after the home scored the only two goals in the opening 16 minutes.

Good inter-play by Leigh Dunn and Callum Birdsall found young Adam Meegan and he fired past goalkeeper Matthew Berry.

Worse was to follow for Redcar as Meegan latched onto a back pass and rounded the keeper and on 65 minutes any hopes the visitors harboured wilted as they had Adam Preston sent off.

Ebac Northern League championship challengers Shildon were too strong for Hartlepool in the Third Round of the Durham Challenge Cup.

Michael Rae, Billy Greulich Smith, Lee Chapman, Ben Wood and Jack Taylor all struck as Shildon went nap.

Bottom-of-the-table Wolviston clinched a last-minute equaliser in a six-goals thriller with Prudhoe Town.

Fortunes ebbed and flowed and after Connor Powell gave the Tynesiders the lead, Ian Danby headed in the equaliser.

Danby struck again and, with Wolviston well on top at this stage, a win for the home side looked likely but the visitors fired back and strikes by Chris Hill and Powell had them ahead until Ryan Hebb levelled on 90 minutes.

Seaton Carew have struggled for several weeks but they too managed a point in the bottom-six clash at Gateshead Leam Rangers.

Seaton goalkeeper Bailey Hagan saved a Brodie Simpson penalty and early in the second period Stephen Chapman buried a shot into the net to give the Seasiders an advantage.

With time running out a rare win was on the cards but Alex Booth celebrated his debut by scoring Leam’s equaliser.

Ashbrooke Belford House were comfortable winners of the Wearside derby at Silksworth CW. David Scott, Nathan Burrell and Corey Steel were the marksmen.

An only goal by Ross Morrow, who cut in from the right and delivered a clinical finish past goalkeeper Gary Frater, proved sufficient for Spennymoor Town Reserves at Jarrow.

Horden CW are now two points behind leaders Stockton Town following victory over Sunderland West End in an eventful game.

Just before the interval West End goalkeeper Neil Bussey was sent off and David Keighley took over. His first task was to save Michael Patterson’s penalty.

Luke Wilson headed Horden in front on 58 minutes and Chris Tarn doubled the lead before the Wearsiders missed from the spot as Chris Davidson saved Barry Turton’s effort.

Easington Colliery stay third but they left it late before claiming the points at home to improving Harton and Westoe who led courtesy of Ricky Brown.

Brian Orton levelled and two minutes from the end Orton set up Michael Watson who curled the ball past visiting goalkeeper Jak Wells
