BRADLEY SAUNDERS will warm up for his April headline show at Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena with an outing at Hull in March.

The Sedgefield light-welterweight has been added to the March 7 ‘Divide and Conquer’ show at Hull Ice Arena, which also features Luke Campbell and Tommy Coyle.

Saunders will compete in a six-round contest, with his opponent due to be confirmed in the next couple of weeks.

The fight will enable the 28-year-old to tune up ahead of the biggest night of his professional career on April 4.

The WBO Inter-Continental champion will fight Dave Ryan for the Commonwealth title at the Metro Radio Arena as he looks to continue his rise to world level.

“I’m not sure about the exact details at the moment, but my manager has told me I’m going to be out so I’m happy,” said Saunders, who has relocated to a training base in Marbella. “It’ll be a six rounder, and with Campbell, Coyle and Rocky (Ryan) on the same show, it’ll be a good night of boxing.”

Saunders’ April date in Newcastle will see him co-headline an Eddie Hearn-promoted bill with fellow Olympian Anthony Joshua.

He will attempt to take the Commonwealth strap from Ryan, who recorded a surprise win over Tyrone Nurse in Leeds last October.

Saunders currently boasts 11 straight wins in the professional ranks, although his most recent outing, against Latvian Ivan Levickis in the autumn, saw him produce a somewhat disappointing display.

The County Durham fighter took the fight at short notice, and March’s appearance at Hull looks to be an attempt to ensure he is not similarly ring rusty when he returns to the North-East the following month.
