STAFF at a grade II-listed arts and business venue are to hold an open day to show off the facilities at the venue following a £3.2m overhaul.

The Witham, in Barnard Castle, underwent the renovation last year and it now boasts two meeting spaces and 250-capacity entertainment space.

The venue was built in 1846 for the benefit of the local community with money raised through local subscription to commemorate local landowner Henry Witham.

Katy Taylor, the venue's operations and programme manager, said: “The Witham is a great place for a meeting away from the office or to hold a business event.

“The building is Wi-Fi enabled and has a full range of AV equipment, a perfect blend of high-end technology in a building full of heritage and character.”

On Tuesday, February 3, visitors can attend a morning or afternoon session to view the facilities on offer at The Witham.

The sessions run between 11am and 1.30pm and 12.30pm and 3pm.
