The Ladies first team registered their return following Christmas with a victory against Bingley Bees.

Hayley Maxwell opened the scoring for Thirsk and Fran Nichol and Izzy De Costa defended well to hold onto this. Holly Oldham toyed with the Bees defence before scoring Thirsk’s second. Karen Skipings then struck to secure a strong 3-0 victory.

Meanwhile, the Men’s first team were also in action against Harrogate.

Thirsk started the brighter and Paul Doyle dribbled down the wing before striking to Dan Lawson who slotted home. Harrogate got back into the match with a goal before half-time.

The second-half was scrappy, however, Harrogate scored from a penalty corner with less than two minutes remaining to secure the victory.

The Men’s third team played against Wakefield and despite opening well, Thirsk fell one behind. They defended well but went into half-time one-nil down.

Joe Shannon drew Thirsk level early in the second half. Jake Bowers then struck twice more to give the team a well-deserved victory. The Under-12 Girls D played Leeds. Harriet Strachen starred in match one scoring to give Thirsk victory against Selby.

Halifax were next and despite Thirsk playing well, they lost 1-0.

Thirsk dominated against Sheffield, running out 5-0 victors with goals from Jemima Green, Alice Simmerson and Millie Poppit.

In the final game Wakefield scored first but a goal from Millie and then a second from Charlotte Munns gave Thirsk a 2-1 victory.
