DURHAM Women have announced a double signing ahead of the new FA WSL2 season.

Amelia Pereira and Becky Beech have joined the Wildcats as team manager Lee Sanders looks to build on the team’s sixth place finish in their first competitive seaon.

Pereira, an exciting midfield talent born in Portugal, joins from American side Hartford Hawks where she has played alongside current Durham captain Caroline Dixon.

Beech signs from Hull City, where she has had an exceptional scoring record in the lower divisions and will look to continue that form in a step-up to the WSL.

Meanwhile, Durham have agreed to the transfer of midfielder Zoe Ness to Swedish side Mallbackens IF.

Sanders said: “After being with the club so long, Zoe has been given a great opportunity at the high end of Swedish football and I'm certainly not going to deny her the opportunity.

“She was under contract with us but I have always stated I would never take that kind of chance away from anyone.

“She is a tremendous young talent and I wish her all the best on the move.”
