SCHOOLCHILDREN at Yarm Prep School have delivered plenty of festive cheer with a donation of Christmas presents to underprivileged children in the North-East.

The children have been collecting gifts for Mission Christmas Cash for Kids and were hailed by Courage the Cat, the charity’s mascot, who made a special appearance at the school to collect the presents.

Organised by Bauer Media, which includes TFM Radio and the Magic Network, Mission Christmas works in partnership with Foresters, the international financial services organisation, to deliver gifts to disadvantaged children at Christmas time.

Cash for Kids covers 21 areas in the UK, including Stockton, in partnership with 37 of Bauer’s radio stations.

Bill Sawyer, Head of Yarm Preparatory School, said: “Yarm School is committed to ensuring our pupils develop a strong understanding that they should support local charities and those overseas. I am delighted with the generosity shown by our pupils and their families. The festive period is a joyous occasion, which should be enjoyed by all, and we’re delighted to support such a wonderful charity as Cash for Kids.

“It was fantastic to welcome ‘Courage the Cat’ to the school, who was well received by both staff and pupils, and I hope our donations will help bring some festive cheer to disadvantaged children in the region, this Christmas.”
