A DISABLED man has been left with a £3,000 repair bill after a thug keyed his car and slashed his tyres.

Stanley Naisbitt’s blue Citroen Picasso was parked on his drive in Cheviot Court, in the Springfield area of Darlington, when a man scratched every panel of the car with a key.

CCTV installed at the 68-year-old’s house caught the moment the man, who was wearing a hoodie, rode up to his drive on a bike and scratched his car at 11.30pm on Monday, December 1.

The incident happened around two months after all four tyres on Mr Naisbitt’s car were also slashed.

He said: “I’m disabled and I really rely on my car to get about.

“If the car had been any older it would have been written off.

“I was hoping the tyres would be the last of it but I put some cameras up and that caught what happened this second time.

“He seemed to know there was a camera because he kept his hood up and his back to the camera at all times.”

He added: “This is someone with a definite vendetta, it’s not just a drunk guy going past and randomly scratching it.

“Why only target my car, parked on the drive?

“This has left me and my wife very upset, we just can’t understand it and would ask anyone who knows anything to come forward.”

PC Jeff Summerhill, of Darlington police, who is investigating the incident, also urged any witnesses to come forward.

Anyone with any information can call police on 101.
