UNWANTED Sunderland striker Danny Graham has vowed to get back on the goal trail after completing a loan move to Wolverhampton Wanderers for the rest of the year.

The Black Cats have agreed to let the 29-year-old head for Molineux until January when a longer term deal could be agreed depending on how things go.

Graham is not part of Gus Poyet’s plans on Wearside and, despite sitting on the bench a number of times, his only appearance this season was during the 2-1 defeat to Stoke in the Capital One Cup.

A number of Championship clubs had shown an interest in Graham, including Brentford, but his preferred move to Middlesbrough did not materialise in the summer.

That has left the former Carlisle and Watford man waiting for the right opportunity and he has acted on a short term switch to Wolves to see how things go.

"I am delighted to have agreed a loan deal to join Wolves and I'm looking forward to meeting the lads in training on Monday," said Graham.

"Wolves is a good club which has done very well over the last year and this is a good opportunity for me to try to play some regular football and get back to scoring goals."

Graham, who should make his debut against Nottingham Forest on November 22, failed to score in any of his 14 appearances for Sunderland after joining from Swansea for £5m in January last year.

The Gateshead-born front-man has had two loan spells at Hull, where he also struggled to hit the net, and Middlesbrough during his Sunderland career.

He recaptured his scoring touch during five months at the Riverside last season, scoring six times, and he will hope to rediscover the sort of form which made him a Championship hit at Watford between 2009-11.
