TATTOO ARTISTS from across the country converged on the spa town of Harrogate at the weekend for a celebration of the art form.

More than 120 tattooists travelled to the North Yorkshire venue for the Tattoo Royale convention, held at Harrogate International Centre on Saturday and Sunday (October 26). There, they tattooed and inked dozens of members of the public.

It is the first time the venue has hosted the event.

Competitions for best tattoos ran throughout the weekend, alongside stage shows from magicians and burlesque acts.

On Saturday the contest staged its Battle Royale; Game of Thrones, where ten tattoo artists were given a theme and six hours to create the winning design on a willing volunteer.
