FLORAL tributes have been laid at the site where a grandmother died following a collision with a car last night.

Linda Warren, 60, from the Middlesbrough area, died after a collision with a black Hyundai vehicle around 6.35pm outside the Premier Shop on Saltersgill Avenue.

The 19-year-old male driver of the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and has now been bailed pending further enquiries.

Ms Warren leaves behind her mother, five brothers and sisters, her son and daughter and seven grandchildren.

A message written on a bunch of flowers left as the scene reads: “Devastated beyond words. RIP Linda, going to miss you so much. Love always Marie and Lenny.”

Officers were stopping motorists at the scene as they continue to search for witnesses to the fatal collision.

Any witnesses are asked to contact PC Martin Tranmer from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 186984.

The incident comes just days after Hannah Baxter was seriously injured by a bus on Stockton High Street near to ‘Maxwell’s Corner’ at around 4.50pm on Tuesday.

The 32-year-old was taken to James Cook University Hospital before being transferred to Newcastle’s Freeman Hospital where she remains in a serious condition with multiple injuries.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “Hannah’s family are receiving on-going support from a Cleveland Police family liaison officer. They have wished to express their sincere thanks to the passers-by who went to help Hannah immediately after the collision, all of the emergency services who attended the scene, and the NHS staff at James Cook and Freeman Hospitals who are concerned with Hannah’s care.”

Police are still appealing for witnesses to the collision to contact PC Martin Tramner of the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on 101 and quote incident CVP-14-185761.
