REGULAR visitors to a North-East theatre have helped fund a new system to help hard-of-hearing patrons.

A radio frequency hearing system has been installed at Darlington Civic Theatre.

Replacing the old infra-red system, it can be used with or without a hearing aid and works anywhere in the auditorium.

It provides an induction loop for use with hearing aids, as well as headsets which can be used to enhance hearing and for audio described performances.

Audience members who require this service should advise the box office at the time of booking

The new system was funded by the Friends of Darlington Civic Theatre.

Membership benefits for those joining the group include ticket discounts, priority booking, and receptions with members of the cast on first nights.

For more information or to join the Friends, call secretary Rodney Burges (CORR), on 01325-374835.
