TWO puppies who have no trouble making Dogs Trust staff laugh have been named after a legendary comedy duo who recently performed in the region.

The terrier cross pups have been named Tommy and Bobby in honour of comics Cannon and Ball who performed in a show at the Billingham Forum Theatre on Tuesday.

Currently six weeks old, the pups are being looked after by the Dogs Trust and Sue Embleton, Darlington centre manager, said: “Our very own Tommy and Bobby are very amusing little characters and have staff in fits of giggles over their antics so we thought it would be only fitting to name them after the brilliant Cannon and Ball.

“Like their namesakes they are fond of a bit of play fighting, but deep down are the best of friends. “Like any new puppies, they will need help with socialising and training and of course plenty of playtime.”

“We see dogs of all shapes and sizes here at the centre, including puppies, so if you are interested in making a new lifelong best friend, please do get in touch.”

Dogs Trust Darlington cares for around 120 abandoned and unwanted dogs at any one time.
