A PEDESTRIAN has been hit by a car in Harrogate which drove off without stopping.

Police are appealing to the driver or occupants of a vehicle to come forward after the 38-year-old woman was knocked down in the town at about 1am on Sunday, September 28.

She was hit on Victoria Road, at the corner of Esplanade in Harrogate.

The woman was taken to Harrogate District Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.

The driver of the vehicle is believed to be a man in his late twenties and there were also women or girls in the car.

Officers are appealing for the driver and passengers to come forward and also any witnesses to the collision, or anyone who can help identify the driver of the car.
