GATESHEAD’S winning streak at home came to an end but a last-gasp Danny Wright equaliser kept them in the Conference play-off zone.

The Heed stay fifth after Wright was on hand two minutes from time to turn in a decent cross from Alex Rodman to prevent a defeat to Aldershot.

The Shots had taken the lead six minutes before half-time when Joseph N’Guessan saw his deep cross drop straight inside the far post.

After that it had looked as if Aldershot would hold on and return south with the points, only for Wright to pounce.

Despite avoiding defeat, the draw meant Gateshead’s three match winning run at the Gateshead International Stadium came to an end.

Gateshead: Bartlett; Curtis, Clark, Rodman, Jones (Chandler 71), O’Donnell, Oster, Turnbull, Wright, Finnigan (Allan 71), Brown (Rankine 55). Subs (not used): Guy, Ramshaw.
