A CAR caught fire after a collision between two cars resulting in one man being taken to hospital and two arrests.
Several people are thought to have fled the scene of the incident which happened at Apple Orchard Bank in Skelton, near Saltburn in east Cleveland, at about 10.25am this morning involving a silver Corsa and a silver Fiesta.
A spokeswoman for Cleveland Fire Brigade said two appliances and the emergency rescue tender from Coulby Newham (Middlesbrough) attended and crews used two hose jets to extinguish the blaze. “This was to a report of a vehicle well alight. No one was trapped,” she said.
“One casualty was treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to hospital by ambulance.”
A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
