YOUTH activity providers in Darlington have been urged to contribute to a database showing exactly what young people can access in the town.
Darlington Borough Council is looking to gather information on all structured activity sessions offered for young people that impact on wellbeing, such as sports, arts and youth clubs for children aged between 11 and 19 or up to 24 for young people with a disability.
The council has asked for public sector bodies as well as the private, voluntary and community sectors on youth activity provision to contact them with timetables and access information .
The details provided will be used on the CLICK website to provide an accurate reflection of the wide range of activities available for young people in the borough.
Councillor Cyndi Hughes, the council's cabinet member for children and young people, said: "It is vitally important to help young people stay informed about activities and opportunities open to them in our area.
"This mapping will also help to identify if any gaps exist, enabling community groups or businesses to spring up to fill them.”
Providers can complete a form at clicktodo.co.uk or email joanne.shutt@darlington.gov.uk for a copy. However, if it is more convenient, providers can simply email through a timetable that they already have, in place of the data form.
