A MENTAL health charity in Darlington will launch its new website at its annual meeting on Tuesday (September 9).

Darlington Mind provides a wide range of services for people with mental health problems, including day care for older people with dementia and a drop in service.

The charity is the area’s largest voluntary sector mental health agency and is supported by 60 volunteers alongside 30 staff.

The website will provide new information to the public on mental health problems as well as detailing 13 projects Darlington Mind are providing.

The meeting will be held at St Hilda’s Hall Darlington and the guest speaker will be Darlington Borough Council leader Bill Dixon.

Gary Emerson, Darlington Mind’s chief executive, said: "We are pleased Cllr Dixon has agreed to ‘hit the launch button’ at our AGM and help us provide a new and exciting website full of downloadable information sheets on mental health.”

The meeting will also be attended by Darlington mayor Gerald Lee and mayoress Ruth Lee who will present service users with ICT qualification certificates and honour Darlington Mind’s volunteer of the year.
