STAFF and customers from an electrical retailer in Darlington have offered messages of good luck to the Armed Forces personnel taking part in the inaugural Invictus Games next month.

Yesss Electrical is an official supporter of the games and giant good luck card was signed by staff and customers at the Darlington branch on Yarm Road Industrial Estate

The card started its journey from the company headquarters in Normanton and is currently travelling to a number of different branches across the country, where staff and customers will have the opportunity to offer their good luck messages to the team.

It will be presented to the British Armed Forces team ahead of the opening ceremony.

The Invictus Games – an international sporting event championed by Prince Harry – runs from September 10 to 14.

Andy Singleton, one of the founding directors of Yesss said: “The organisation is fully behind the Invictus Games and we wanted to demonstrate this by presenting the British Armed Forces team taking part with something which would show our appreciation and offer words of support and encouragement ahead of the games."

The Games will see more than 400 competitors from 14 nations compete in nine adaptive sports including sitting volleyball, athletics, archery, wheelchair basketball, road cycling, indoor rowing, wheelchair rugby, powerlifting and swimming.

Tickets are currently on sale at invictusgames.org/ticket-info and cost £12.85 per person.
