THOUSANDS of runners took to the streets of Middlesbrough to take part the tenth Tees Pride 10km run.

This morning, (Sunday, August 31) competitive runners lined up alongside those taking part for charity or just for their own fun at the start line in Acklam while hundreds more people took part in a 3km fun run.

Among the fancy dress runners, the hundreds of fans who lined the streets were able to spot an Elvis impersonator, Postman Pat, Zorro and Austin Powers.

The elite race was won by Ethiopian paralympian Wondiye Indelbu, 26, who lives in Middlesbrough, while hometown Commonwealth competitor Jade Jones was the first female wheelchair user over the finishing line.
