A VISUALLY impaired sports fan has set up tennis sessions for other blind and partially sighted people.

Rosie Pybus, a trainee sports development officer, played tennis with other partially sighted people at Splash in Stockton and said anyone with sight problems was welcome.

She said: "The aims of these tennis sessions are to encourage visually impaired people to give it a go and play some sport. By bringing tennis into the local community we are reducing barriers to participation and allowing people to become court confident in a friendly setting."

Rosie is a trainer sports development officer and got involved with Stockton Splash through to the Royal National Institute of Blind People's (RNIB) Extending the Reach scheme which helps blind people to gain work experience.
