NEWCASTLE UNITED will hand Premier League debuts to three summer signings against Manchester City today.

French pair Remy Cabella and Emmanuel Riviere both start for the Magpies along with Dutchman Daryl Janmaat, who all appear in the English top-flight for the first time. Another Newcastle close-season recruit, Jack Colback, also starts at the hub of the midfield alongside Vurnon Anita.

Newcastle will be looking to avoid a repeat of the 4-0 drubbing at Manchester City on the opening weekend of last season, when Yohan Cabaye rocked the Tyneside club with a request to join Arsenal after a £10m bid was lodged.

Fernando, who has arrived from Porto, is the only summer purchase included for the Premier League champions at St James’ Park this afternoon. Goalkeeper Joe Hart is preferred to Argentine Wily Cabellero.
