ONE of the world’s oldest and most famous brass bands is heading for the region to perform at a charity concert.
The Black Dyke Band is helping to raise funds to support the choristers of Ripon Cathedral by giving a fundraising concert at the cathedral on August 30.
The Dean of Ripon, the Very Reverend John Dobson, said: “We are immensely proud to welcome the Black Dyke Band to the cathedral for this concert in aid of our Music Trust.
“You could say that this is a case of one Yorkshire icon supporting another, and we are extremely grateful for the band’s support with our fundraising.”
The Black Dyke Band concert will start at 7.30pm. Reserved seats are £18, unreserved seats £14, under-16s £8. Tickets are available on the door subject to availability, in person from the Ripon Cathedral gift shop, or credit card sales may be made by calling 07798 696379.
