A 77-YEAR-OLD cyclist has died after colliding with an elderly pedestrian on a rural lane.
The incident happened on Follifoot Lane, north of Kirkby Overblow, near Harrogate, at 1.40pm on Wednesday (July 13).
The cyclist, from Leeds, was heading from the A658 towards Kirkby Overblow, when he collided with a 72-year-old man from Harrogate, who was taken to Harrogate District Hospital where he was treated before being released.
The cyclist was taken to Leeds General Infirmary by the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, where he died a short time later.
Police urged anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the cyclist or pedestrian beforehand, to call 101, select option 2 and ask for Paul Cording.
