DOZENS of riders from across the country competed in the Dales Pony Society Summer Breed Show.
The overall champion of the annual event, in Barnard Castle on Saturday, August 2, was six-year-old mare Westwick Millie, bred and exhibited by David and Alison Eccles, from Middleton-in-Teesdale, who was also crowned best female pony.
Their other prize winners were reserve champion, Westwick Mixture; youngstock champion, Westwick Bobbie ll and reserve youngstock Westwick Daisy.
The winner of the Horse of the Year Show qualifier was Morlandsdale Mia, bred by AW Morland, of Tebay, and exhibited by Mrs BJ Robinson, of Killington, Lancashire, which also won best pony under saddle.
Best driven pony was Highcroft Merlin, bred by J Daley and Sons, of Spennymoor, and exhibited by Jodie Carr, from Seaham.
Best gelding was seven-year-old Tudor Raven, bred and exhibited by D & S Harrison, of Tudhoe.
