A POPULAR annual tea dance is returning to Darlington’s Market Square next week.
The event, organised by GOLD - Growing Older Living in Darlington - takes place on August 13 from 11am to 3pm and will feature a live big band, free cream teas and more than 20 stalls displaying information about local services.
Councillor Veronica Copeland, Darlington Borough Council’s cabinet member for Adult Social Care and Housing, said: “The event is popular amongst residents, young and old alike.
“The live music really brings an air of celebration to the Market Place and it is brilliant to see lots of people joining in.”
Terry Taylor, GOLD chair, added: “We are really looking forward to this tea dance being bigger and better than ever.
“We have more information stalls than ever before so people can find out what’s on and what’s available for them, and there’ll be plenty of time for dancing.”
