WELSH rockers Funeral for a Friend are headlining an alternative music festival on Teesside.
The Make a Scene music festival will return for its fifth year on Sunday, October 5 at Teesside University’s Student Union.
Along with Funeral for a Friend, fellow Welsh band The Blackout will play the main stage and Hacktivists will return to Middlesbrough for the second time.
Funeral for a Friend are one of the biggest UK Alternative acts around and have received chart and critical success with albums such as Casually Dressed and Deep in Conversation and Hours.
The Blackout have played sell out shows in Middlesbrough before, and three of their albums have charted in the UK Top 40.
Hacktivists have spent the year playing festivals such as Download and Rock Am Ring, and have recently supported Limp Bizkit and Korn on tour.
The festival has been described as the North-East’s premier independent alternative music festival, and will see more than 30 live acts play on numerous stages over the course of the day.
North-East talent is also given the chance to play, with Newcastle-based metal band Arcite already lined up to play.
Other regional bands on the line-up include Foundations, All at Sea and Preserver.
The festival will be followed by what organisers call a “semi legendary” after party.
