FIVE people arrested during a series of drugs raids have appeared in court.

Sian Blareau, of Lewes Road, and Thomas Durham, of Ampleforth Way, both Darlington, are charged with supplying heroin.

Ms Blareau, 33, appeared at Teesside Crown Court via a live video-link from Low Newton Prison, while Mr Durham, 39, was in the dock.

Their case was adjourned until August 15.

Ms Blareau, who faces eight counts of supplying Class A drugs, was remanded in custody until the next hearing.

Mr Durham, who was given bail, is charged with possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply, and one charge of supplying.

Catherine Dillon, 43, of Gladstone Street, Darlington, appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court to face two charges of attempting to supply Class A drugs and one charge of supplying, while Lee Hedge, 39, also of Gladstone Street, faced two charges of attempting to supply Class A drugs.

James Pullen, 33, of Lavender Court, Colburn, near Catterick Garrison, also appeared to face two charges of supplying Class A drugs.

The defendants – who were arrested during dawn raids earlier this month - entered no pleas and were all granted unconditional bail until their next hearing at Teesside Crown Court on August 14.
