Members sought for sports arena development group

First published in News

CAMPAIGNERS drawing up plans for the creation of a sports arena are inviting people to join their group.

The Prince Bishops Community Stadium group is looking for more members to help develop proposals for the venue on land at Copeland Lane, in Evenwood.

Facilities would include provision for provision for harness racing, indoor cricket, softball, fencing, archery and specialist sports for disabled athletes.

The group meets in the Eden Arms, at West Auckland, on Wednesday (July 30), at 7.30pm.

Items for discussion include annual membership fees, monthly meetings, and grant applications.

Representatives from Boxx Consultants and Your Back Yard will also be in attendance.

Anyone interested in attending the meeting or joining the group should call Richard Wigham, group secretary, on 07814-324444.
